Tareq is a London-based Greek-Jordanian recording artist, DJ, and producer. He began his career as the frontman of the nu-electro band TechSoir before releasing his solo debut album “Cocoon” (2010). His second album “Fish” (2013) explored a fresh approach to pop music, featuring collaborations with Greek indie-pop artists including Natassa Bofiliou, Marina Satti, and Rsn. He later released the “Indigo EP” (2017), produced by Lacquer, and “Prints” (2020), a mid-tempo electronica love song with dystopian undertones.
Today, Tareq is one half of the internationally acclaimed duo Boys’ Shorts, alongside Vagelis (formerly LAGASTA). Their music blends house, disco, slow techno, and acid, with releases on respected labels such as Permanent Vacation, HE.SHE.THEY., Polari Records, Future Disco, and Correspondant. Their track “New Era” reached No.1 on Beatport and was featured on Germany’s Radio Eins chart, while The New York Times named them among “5 Artists to Watch” in 2025.
They have remixed artists such as Alison Goldfrapp, Hot Chip, Boy George, Poolside, Yuksek x Polo & Pan, and Kasper Bjørke, establishing their reputation as one of the most exciting acts in contemporary electronic music.
